Hydromechanical equipment for HPP2 Uganda Hydroelectric Project

ATB Riva Calzoni will supply gates, trashracks, stoplogs and all the hydromechanical accessories for the power plant on the Achwa river.

ATB Riva Calzoni was chosen by Pac Spa to deal with the design, supply, trasport and installation of hydromechanical equipment - sliding gates, trashracks, stoplogs and accessories - which will be part of the HPP2 plant, in Northern Uganda.

The hydroelectric power plant, in Pader district, Northern Uganda, has a power of 42 megawatts and an annual output of 281 GWh. This is the one in a cascade of five power stations planned on the Achwa River totaling 109 megawatts.

In order to operate in the african country, ATB Riva Calzoni has established a branch and has built a team of thirty people who will work on the site until summer 2018 and will take care of the assembly of the hydromechanical components.

The company, in addition to supplying the all ranges of hydraulic units, also assisted the customer in study of the functional plant definition, the installation of controls devices, hydraulic and electrical parts to be carried out directly on site.
