Ammonia converter for Navoiyazot chemical plant
ATB Riva Calzoni manufactured and shipped a reactor for Navoiy, an ammonia converter for the process and production plant of fertilizers and ammonia in Uzbekistan.
The fertilizer and ammonia plant that Navoiyazot, a chemical company part of the Uzkimyosanoat group, is building in Navoiy, Central Region of Uzbekistan, will use natural gas resources as feedstock to produce 2,000 t a day of ammonia and 1,750 t per day of urea supergranules.
Design, manufacture and equipment procurement, on-site construction work and commissioning activities will be overseen by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
For this project, part of Uzbekistan's plan to transform its infrastructure and production facilities with advanced and energy-efficient technologies, ATB Riva Calzoni manufactured an ammonia converter with Haldor Topsoe process, one product-type on which the company has gained more manufacturing experience.
The pressure vessel, made at Roncadelle and completed at the ATB RC plant in Marghera, has a length of 28 m, a diameter of 3.5 m and weighs about 480 tonnes.
The supply strengthens the relationship with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, world leader in Oil and Gas plant construction.
