SOGAMOSO Hydroelectric Project 820 MW
Sogamoso Hydropower Project includes a concrete-face rockfill dam on the Sogamoso River near Bucaramanga in northern Colombia.
The hydropower plant has an installed capacity of 820 MW which increased Colombia's generating capacity by 10%. Construction of the dam began in February 2009 and the first hydro turbines-generator was commissioned in December 2014.
