A strategic project for the safety of Lake Resia: the doubling of the gates for the second relief outlet of the San Valentino Dam in Bolzano.
In collaboration with Alperia, ATB Riva Calzoni delivered two turnkey radial gates, engineered to ensure maximum reliability and ease of maintenance.
The civil works were carried out by Semat – Building and Industrial Services, part of ATB Group – which handled the foundations, technical rooms, and all structural connections to the dam body.
To guarantee smooth operation even under the harshest winter conditions, we integrated an advanced anti-icing system: resistive heaters and intelligent warming elements keep the control mechanisms free of frost, protecting both the equipment and the structure.
With this intervention, Lake Resia is now better prepared to face extreme weather events and ensure a controlled water flow in every season.
