The spillway gate replacement works, carried out for EDF (Électricité de France), have been completed at the 42 MW Beaumont Monteux hydropower plant in France.
The supply for this challenging project, considered an industrial hydropower heritage site, included six Stoney gates that preserved the original design.
The gates, measuring 18.75 m × 9.3 m (w × h) and topped by a flap gate of 16 m × 2 m (w × h), are fully equipped with operating mechanisms. Installation of the gates—performed one at a time by our joint-venture partner Ponticelli Frères—was scheduled to avoid shutting down the plant.
