Site C Clean Energy: installation operations for the expansion joints and radial gates have begun.

ATB is a key player in the Site C project, supplying hydromechanical technologies to ensure efficiency and sustainability for the 1,100 MW plant.

Site C: installation operations have begun

We are proud to be part of the 1,100 MW Site C Clean Energy hydroelectric project in British Columbia, Canada, carried out in collaboration with AFDE, Groupe LAR, and BC Hydro.
For this state-of-the-art facility we have supplied the complete Hydromechanical Equipment package:

  • Radial gates for spillways
  • Low-level outlet gates
  • Intake gates
  • Maintenance gates for the outlet pipes
  • Six 10 m-diameter expansion joints for the penstocks on the downstream side of the dam

The first expansion joint has already been installed together with Groupe LAR, and despite extreme weather conditions the work is progressing rapidly toward the scheduled 2025 completion.

Discover some shots of this extraordinary achievement and join us in shaping the future of renewable energy with cutting-edge engineering solutions!
