Filling the dam reservoir of the Site C Clean Energy hydroelectric project

In British Columbia, Canada, the reservoir filling phase of the Site C Clean Energy Project has reached a critical stage.

Site C: commissioning

The radial spillway gates and bottom outlets, now in operation to regulate water release, offer spectacular views while ensuring optimal flow control.

ATB Riva Calzoni played a key role in the commissioning, supplying the complete set of hydromechanical equipment—from radial gates to control systems—and six 10-meter-diameter steel expansion joints for the penstocks.

Despite extreme conditions and limited site access, our engineering expertise enabled rapid and safe installation, guaranteeing efficiency and sustainability for the new 1,100 MW hydropower plant.
