MMHE-ATB has been currently engaged with the fabrication of 7 LPG storage bullet tanks for Rapid - Package 22, the refinery and petrochemical integrated project that Petronas is developing in Pengerang, Southern Johor.
The six pressure vessels are the largest for internal diameter (7.700 mm), as well as the longest (85 m) and heaviest (877 metric tonne per units) equipment ever fabricated by MMHE-ATB while the last one is slightly smaller than others (6000 mm; 66m; 610 MT).
The project was awarded by Punj Lloyd Sdn Bhd. This showcase MMHE-ATB as the local fabricator in Malaysia that has the capability to fabricate such huge process equipment with the support and cooperation from resources of MMHE and ATB Riva Calzoni.
A special set of rotators (up to 600 MT) and welding boom machines for automatic welding have been purchased and the joint venture is now fully autonomous to handle such projects in the future.
Approximately 5,872 MT of steel have been utilised for this project, which is about the same amount of steel used for the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The delivery of this project is expected from June to July 2017.
