Hydromechanical equipment for Isola Serafini Basin
ATB Riva Calzoni was chosen as a partner for the construction of the plant that made the Po navigable.
ATB Riva Calzoni, in partnership with Tec Srl, was selected by the Contractor, Isola Serafini Società Consortile arl, for the hydro manufacturing and installation of all the hydromechanical equipment of the new Isola Serafini basin. The project will increase the commercial traffic of Po river, the main italian river.
The plant is placed in Monticelli d'Ongina, in the province of Piacenza, and it is managed by Aipo, the Interregional Po Agency. For the hydro project ATB Riva Calzoni produced the hydromechanical components - the two miter gates, 20 meters long and 8 wide, 80 tons, fitted in April 2017, and the two smaller ones installed in September 2016 – and it designed and implemented the control management system of the hydroelectric power plant.
The work, which has reactivated the navigability on the Po from Cremona and Piacenza, allows the passage of boats with a maximum length of 110 m and a width of 15 m.
